BAE – BRITAIN AT IT’S BEST

Britain's Serious Fraud Office has recently announced that it will seek to prosecute the British world's No. 2 defence contractor on charges of corruption in their dealings pertaining to foreign weapon/vehicle contracts.

Pride of Britain, BAE Systems is accused of paying out millions of dollars to win arms contracts from a number of countries including Tanzania, to whom BAE supplied a radar dish and an old Nokia mobile phone and South Africa where they off loaded some big beach buggies.

BAE and it’s guardian, the British Government could easily resolve all issues through an out-of-court settlement but oh no – the Labour lackeys at the SFO have chosen to humiliate BAE and cast a shadow over all of the company’s U.S. subsidiary operations just as defence contractors globally are having to compete harder than ever for a rapidly shrinking fistful of Pentagon dollars since B.O. came to the White House.

The Group operating across five continents and in over one hundred countries anticipates Operating Profit in 2009 of £1 Billion and sales growth of 28% for first six months of 2009.

BAE describes itself as: “BAE Systems is a defence contractor. Defence contractors are private corporations that perform tasks such as building large aircraft systems or researching new and upcoming technologies for the government. Contracts for these exciting projects are won by placing a price bid and submitting a written technical proposal”.

The SFO is talking about a fine of up to £1bn which it knows will cripple BAE making the company vulnerable and no longer able or equipped to trade against fine organisations such as:

Control Components Inc (CCI) – they’ve bribed
Kellogg Brown & Root – yep – them too
Halliburton – known to bribe
Siemens AG – comes naturally to them
The Titan Corporation – afraid so - bribers
Lee Dynamics International – bribe
Mercator Corporation – guilty of bribing
The Monsanto Company – oh yes
The Micrus Endovascular Company – masters of the bribe
Statoil – name your taste
Schnitzer Steel Industries Inc – which currency would you prefer
IBM – even them too

After prosecution it is hoped that BAE will be the most transparent company operating within the arms manufacturing sector.

Although they’re unlikely to win any new contracts in the future and therefore have to lay off thirty odd thousand workers, at least those unemployed people will be able to stand in the dole queue and hold their heads up high and say to each other ‘do you know what? It’s morally quite right that we’ve lost our jobs – thank you Labour Party for making us see clearly’.
