Yesterday’s Eurovision was made all the better with the news that Peter Tatchell got a good kicking from the Russian Police after organising a demonstration in the main square ahead of the contest.Spouting Human Rights as usual but meaning gay rights as usual Tatchell took his campaign to ram homosexuality down the throats of the Russians having heard Moscow’s Mayor – Yuri Lizhkov describe gays and lesbians as "weapons of mass destruction".
He went for a kicking, he deserved a kicking and he got one. Tatchell does the gay and lesbian community no good at all. He seeks publicity for himself and reinforces the dislike of ‘gays’ by the narrow minded in society and alienates the ‘each to his own’ thinkers.
Well done Moscow – Britain is not swapping him for any spies, gay or otherwise.

hmmm, is this prejudiced or just fed up with the necessity to illustate issues and the failure of journalists to provide adequate context which has the knock-on effect of making campaigners sound like whiners?
why do the press have an obsessive need to hang stories on personality anyway? If it's to create identification, then someone less passive-aggressive and more sympathetic than peter tatchell would be more effective.

hehe...Russia needs more people. The state either has to make them, or let them come from somewhere else. Gays aren't helping unless they each agree to have a few kids.
The gay and lesbian community (in my opinion) is generally well vocalised and (I hope) generally accepted in mainstream society - my post is about Tatchell's constant efforts to force the issure where it need not be forced - i.e. in Moscow where the authorities warned in advance that 'all demonstrations' would be put down with force - i.e. he went for a kicking and deserved it regardless of the cause.
But no-one "deserves a kicking" - this is the voice of thuggery
