It’s not the fact that our current immoral MPs are all stealing from us that grates but the way in which the embezzlers all waited until they were found out before admitting to ‘an error of judgement’, and then thinking that they could simply pay back the fraudulently raised dosh and all will be well.

Is it too much to ask that our MPs don’t view themselves as above us and beyond the reach of the law? Shouldn’t being an MP be like being a nurse, a doctor, a traffic warden, a priest, an aid worker or a burglar? – a vocation.

Credit where credit’s due, Martin Salter has clearly not spanked his constituents unlike Margaret Beckett who has and couldn’t give a shit what the people of Derby South think about it. Unfortunately for Mr Salter, he’s a mainstream MP and that’s a profession no longer associated with honesty which benefits the lifestyle/grudge parties such as Green, UKIP and BNP.

Typical of the Conservatives, Ann Widdithing said that if MPs are denied their right to shaft the public on expenses, who’d want to be an MP? – doh – maybe an honest person.
