Shouldn’t a person have a right to be able to give loads of money anonymously to the Government of the country? No, of course not. At best it’s open to misinterpretation; at worst it allows for the purchase of political favours and titles.Equally suspicious, why would a man go out of his way to bung the Government £600,000 via a chain of stooges and then not even care whether the secret dosh ended up in Gordon’s wallet, Harriet Harman’s purse or behind the bar at the local Labour Club. What a nice honest man Mr Abrahams must be!
Media speculation as to whether the bung was a Jewish donation in disguise is equally strange. This was given and received secretly in a fastidiously covert manner – that’s the crime; whether it came from a Jew is less relevant than if it had been given by Tesco for example, now that would have been suspicious.
