This week’s edition of the Antiques Road Show on Sunday
is a definite ‘must see’ for all collectors of waste memorabilia.
Coming live from Newbury, the BBC has promised an unprecedented
array of ancient waste related items including an 1100 litre Kraut wheelie bin dating
back to 1982 which is still being used to this day albeit minus one wheel which
fell off a year ago, a missing flap on the lid and half a lifting lug on one
side.
Slightly pissed off customer Tony Denton signed up with
his waste contractor when he was a start up company aged twenty one and tells
Fiona Bruce how he’s come to love the job of dragging the fucked eurocart
eighteen feet to the pavement each week and about his first kiss leaning against
it listening to the New Seekers.
Also on the show is an ex Hales Dempster Dumpster still
in use with a local waste contractor, a road sweeper from Reading that’s so old
it adds dirt to the roads and a front end loader previously owned by a mafia
crime family.
