Greenpeace, The Green Party and Ewa Jasiewicz have every
right to demonstrate against fracking and the lack of documented/published
evidence of water pollution (or the lack of) and earthquakes (or the lack of)
in the UK and America linked to the technology.
Unfortunately their request for cheap, sustainable clean
energy is wishful thinking not least because every application for wind
turbines gets stopped in its tracks due to people demonstrating against them.Fortunately for the residents of Balcombe, the anti fracking campaign in Sussex just became so much more credible with the addition of a thousand jobless peripatetic cause liggers with original pink and red hair, smoking roll ups wearing half laced Dr Martins and smelling of Patchouli oil.

To frack or not to frack is too bigger issue to be swayed by a group of people camping in a field that are not in possession of all of the facts.
It is up to the Government and all interested parties to present evidence of any actual environmental damage caused in the UK or America by the process and/or likely to pose a threat to water supplies and/or earthquake causation and the realistic potential financial gain to the country.
Only when these issues have been thrashed out can anyone with an interest, i.e. the entire population of Britain make an informed decision whether to frack or not to frack.
How pathetic when a supposedly intelligent woman takes her son to a demo for the sole purpose of getting arrested – ideally heavy handedly in front of photographers so she can claim her place as an activist. The fact that she was singing ‘we shall not be moved’ was even sadder.
You have to admire the protesters at Balcombe to have travelled all that way into deepest Sussex to campaign against something they seem to know very little about.
One of them said to reporters that fracking had been tried in America and it didn’t work – dumb – another said that the only way to have cheap energy is by turning to renewables – dumber, and another took her son to have his pressure points massaged by the Police on camera – green dumber and dumber.
