The BBC and other doomsday preachers cannot stand the idea of
allowing a good thing to get in the way of our suffering.
Thank you The Met Office for coming up with another tool
with which the BBC can depress/scare the shit out of the British public with
the newly and now often quoted – ‘Heatwave Level Warning’ – an excellent
carrier of news relating to old people dying horribly in the heat, young people
drowning in their hundreds in reservoirs and private ambulances having to be called
in to carry all the recently ill but now very dead, decaying cadavers about. We didn’t even get three whole days to wear the Nivea Sun lotion before we were being told to slip on the hair shirt and feel the guilt.
Luckily though the BBC has sent out urgent warnings and advice to keep as many British people alive as possible – wear thin clothing, drink plenty of water, stay in the shade, breath, go to the toilet before you shit your pants and do not push cotton wool buds into your tiny brain via you ear canal.
