VOTE FOR BOBBY
Apart from the fact that I really don’t care who appoints heads of Police or decides whether the budget goes on new wheel trims for their Astra’s or a fresh coat of paint on the bars in the holding cells, I don’t know who was actually up for the role or indeed why they think they can make a difference.
There is a popular but wrong perception that the Police are there to help people. They are not. The job of the Police is to arrest people and that’s it. I have no doubts that they are not perfect and may from time to time collude on paperwork and statements, especially where Liverpool fans are concerned.
Without doubt, their job is a hard one and I for one wouldn’t have the balls or the patience to do what they do. As long as the Police Force remains well funded and able to continue arresting people without worrying about budgets – I couldn’t give a toss who thinks they have some say over the top bobby.
What a waste of money the whole voting thing was – maybe the Police could have made better use of the millions wasted on the whole thing.
