STEERING WHEELS
Formula 1 is damn expensive in every respect. Two teams have budgets quoted as “limitless” while Ferrari easily soak up in excess of £450 million a season. Even the price of the chips at Spa makes Bernie Ecclestone wince as he pulls out the wallet.
But I think I’ve discovered an excess. According to James Allen on this morning’s coverage of Australia, a steering wheel now costs £50,000 each. How can a steering wheel cost £50k? – you could get Hewlett Packard to reengineer a Notebook into the shape of a steering wheel for less than £50k and at least then you’d be able to buy replacements at Comet for £299.99.
I’m assuming it’s no more than a steering wheel with some switches, maybe a processor or two, some memory, sat nav, a phone and some buttons, or is there a Ming vase in there somewhere?

Silly bastards, make them give it back.

Rainy winters snug by the fire, sunny hot summers like Spain growing olives, grapes, lemons and limes; this is climate change - don't listen to them - they're talking bollocks.

WELL DONE PIERRE
A big thank you to Pierre, Jean Paul, Luc and Marco, the four Froggie fishermen for starving Britain of goods over the last few days - that's not 'French' at all is it?
